Re: Soil Ammendment Questions

Jordan,
Growers I've talked to add about 3-5 lbs.of granular Calcium Nitrate 100 sq.
ft. around the growing area. Rake it in the existing soil, it will help
boost the young plant even when the soil is still cold. Bloodmeal at about
4#/100 sq.ft. is an alternative, incorporate it 2-4 weeks before planting as
it is slow release, that's would be plenty of nitro. I always apply rock
phosphate for phosphorus at about 25#/1000 sq.ft., that would be enough at
once. You don't need potash but if you did use greensand 25#/1000 sq.ft.

Chriss,
Potash is potassium. Don
