Jordan,
I quit using granulars other than maybe a potassium ammendment such as
0-0-60 for the soil as it tends to cause salt accumulations. I only use the
K granular if I really am low in K. K is really important for pumpkin growth
and carbs to help them get big.  My soil is already high in K so I don't. I
am turning towrds organic soil ammendments such as humic acid for the
building of roots and soil organisms, soft rock phosphate for any phosphorus
needs, bloodmeal for N, and greensand for K. Alfalfa meal or kelp meal is
also a great ammendment.    Don
