Chris,
We have tons of racoons also. They have eaten everythirg that is sweet like
corn melons, strawberries and are ravenous when it comes to chickens. I
shot them . Trapped them and move them 10 miles and swear they find there
way back. The melons they sampled almost every one _ sweet, not sweet,
really sweet. One technique that works is to get one of those electric
horse fences put it 6-8 inches off the ground around the perimeter of the
patch. Sometimes if you use fish or blood meal skunks and coons will dig
up the soil. Never had anything eat the giants except a stray neighbors
cow . Lost 10lbs that way. Bummer.***************************brock
