Hello Sue
sorry to take so long to reply, I live in adelaide South Australia, wher
e most pumpkins sold and eaten are blue the other popular variety is
what i believe you peolpe call acorn squash, we call them butternut
pumpkins. Any way back to Queensland Blue Pumpkins, I would be more than
happy to mail some seed to anyone that wants them, It does seem strange
to have people interested in something so common here (the things come
up in compost heaps etc).They do taste lovely though.
My attempts at growing A.G.s this year where a dissaster as a result of
using seed from a nice big A.G. which must have been polinated by a
Queensland Blue, something the size and shape of Q.B. with the colour of
an A.G was the result. (not even a novelty mention at our weighoff, but
good cause for a giggle.)
