Dear Bill,
My plot is also quite small. It is about 30 X 4 long on one side and
then I use about 30 X 30 of grass area, that I let the pumpkins sprawl
on. I also have a neighbors tree that shades my yard for about 3
hours in the afternoon. This tree was trimmed and thinned last week,
but I dont think it is good enough. (Only an AX would have made me
really happy). Anyways, I did get an 110 pounder last year, not bad
for lousy conditions.

My plot is 30 feet long by 25 feet wide (that is small) And there is a tree
that blocks the sun from my garden for about 4 hours during the afternoon.
