Hi, All!
I find it interesting how many different seed germination processes and
growing/pruning styles there are! Each touts theirs as the easiest or best.
It's wonderful to share that info. Whatever works for you, that's all that
matters. To the newbies, the best advice comes from those with growing
experience and success in your climate.
Although Holland's cooler method worked for me, I will try another method next
year, employing a drier form of heat and less water in the potting mix. Next
year, I probably won't be hatching 40 seeds, either!
Our bug situation is pretty critical (we grow 'em BIG down here), especially
during the summer. Controlling fungus will probably be my hardest challenge. I
should be taking stock in Daconil.
To all who have helped me get my garden project off the ground, thanks! It
looks great and I am thrilled beyond words. The seed stock was great, the
support from this list was phenomenal. Zoo-Doo, Chris Andersen, Tim Canniff,
John Castellucci, Wayne Hackney, John Failor, Brett Hester, Mike and Vickie
Brock, Pat Veltman, Shelly Larue, Pat Storer, Beth Rado, Pumpkinwitch, Al
Eaton, Tim Clark and all the rest. A warm and hearty THANKS! Many apologies if
I forgot to mention your name here. I know who you are and so do you! Thanks!
A special thanks to Don Langevin for publishing such an informative book!
