Hi All,
Well today was a stellar day in the ever impressive but usually unnoticed
metropolis of Canby. We had sun and heat at the same time today, and in turn
I managed to till and plant some seeds today. They may have been cabbage
seeds, but it sure got my taste buds moving for pumpkin planting time. I have
made another sacrifice to the pumpkin gods, and made a 7th site as well. It
is smaller than the rest (20 x 40) and will get less sun and less fertilizer,
but it looked good enough for a squash plant. Now all I need is one more site
for my #469, alais 'The Other White Seed'
Here is a run down of the sites:
Site #1 Home of the #676 LaRue, or the #825 Shymanski. I can't decide which
site to put those two in yet. Looks really good. only remaining fertilizer
is borax, same with all other sites.
Site #2 Home of the #1006 Greer, or the #469 Hester, or something else. Last
of the wild cards will go in this site and I probably wil not make up my mind
until april 18th at 6:45 PM just before I start my seeds.
Site #3 Home of the #697 Ciliberto. This site is still wet in comparison to
the other 5. It also has the most manure.
Site #4 Home of the #827 Holland. Plain and simple.
Site #5 Home of the #567.5 Mombert. A thank you and owe you one or more to
all involved in that seed making its way to my patch.
Site #6 Home of the #676 or #825. Don't know which.
I have a good feeling about the approaching season, and think a new worlds
will be set and 4 pumpkins will go over 1000 pounds. Planting day is nearly
upon the patch now, and all this talk is about to be put to practice.
Good Luck To All, but we're going to be you Ottawa, and you Washington growers
watch out too, Oregon is about to be put on the map. (awfully big boast from
a guy with a #627.5 official personal record, but it works)
Take Care The Pumpkinguru
