I haven't been idle! The home-grown two-wire computer network works, my
friend David Williams has located a variety of compatible sensors, and I've
implemented (as part of my dissertation research) a computer language for
expressing "reactive plans" (in this case, a plan for watering & misting
the patch that takes current garden conditions into account).
The garden is tilled, the soil ammended, and I'm about to lay down PVC pipe.
This could work!
On the other hand, I could come home to my own personal household moat
after some software bug takes hold.
It is a high-stakes game, but worth the risk.
