RE: Root vs Vine


The reason for this question is that if I can not till the whole patch
because it is wet and I only work up a 12x12 space for the plants, I
will have to till at some point when the vine is a number of feet long.
Is it the rule of thumb that the root system extending from the seed,
early on, is further out then the end of the vine? If my plant is six
feet long and I need to till the rest of the patch how close do I get to
the plant with the tiller?
