Hi Flatviner. I had a flat vine here last season (just gone). It got up to about a foot wide and produced ovoid pumpkins. My best of 124 Kilo's came off of it. This was 'Old Yeller' and 'Old Yeller Junior'. I think it is a bit to do with 'on the edge' genetics as the growing tips were very rampant and sort of tetraploid in habit.
