Re: Origin of Vegetable Crops

Dear Harold;
        When I first transferred my pumpkins outside last year( my first
year) the leaves developed
yellow spots which in time spread further out into the leaf and eventually
turned white and like
dried newspaper. I was told this was probably caused by the potting soil I
had started them in. I watered
the problem out( or I think I did) as this was the best advice I could get
at the time from the professionals
I had acess to. I used most of my rain water supply 8000 gal. to achieve
this. The problem seemed to
leave and I had super growth after this. I didn't have this problem on the
backup plant that produced
my largest pumpkin 413 lbs. The only problem I had with this backup was
forcing it to grow south to north.
Remember this was my first year & I didn't even know that you were supposed
to cut off the sucker vines.

I would like to hear your comments on my problem last year.
