I have lots of experience with sewers. I do not not know whether pumpkin
roots grow into your pipes. That is the only problem I see. The roots
will die annually unlike tree roots. The dead roots may not decompose
much.
I would have no concern about pathogens via the sewage. The human
bacteria can't get into the vines and pumpkings.
