There is small book published by the college plant pathologists:
Cucurbit Diseases
by Zitter, Hopkins, Thomas
diseases of watermelons, squash, melons, cucumbers, and other cucurbits.
It does not mention pumpkins. I have 4 of their books, but not the
cucurbit book. AG growers might look for this book at their college
library. I do not know whether it has much on pumpkins. Does anyone on
this list have this book? They are excellent books.
I only got 2 replies to my virus inquiry. Earlier I had heard from 4,
Therefore, I will delay sending my virus proposal. No one expressed any
interest in studying virus resistance in AG lines.
Meanwhile I will check the germination of my indicator plant seeds. I
fear they are all dead. I will try to get fresh stocks of such seed. If
you have any virus problems, I might have the seeds or plants to assay
for viruses.
Some viruses survive in dried leaves. If you suspect a virus problen I
suggest you save some dried leaves for testing. Immediate testing of
fresh leaves is better.
