Barb,
I thought I would install a gridwork of perforated PVC pipes at 10" depth
while I double-dig the entire back yard. I already have a hose connected
to a blower (actually, the house heat) that reaches the yard. The trick
will be to keep the pipes from filling with water, and to keep the soil
from clogging the air holes. Can you put me in contact with the person
who is doing soil aeration? I would really like to talk with him/her
before I start burying things in about a week.
I wonder if sprinkler hose would work as well?

PS: Double-digging 1000 sq ft is a reason for the existence of teenage boys.
