I did a little experimentation with this in the off season. I had pretty
much equal success in germination time with the peat pots and the baggies.
Problem with the baggies was I broke off a couple of the little roots that
came out of the seeds as I transplanted them into pots. Given that I'm too
clumsy to transplant little seeds with roots hanging out of them I'm staying
with the pots. However I will plant one in a plastic pot and two in peat
pots and try to see if there is any noticable difference in how they adapt
to being transplanted out. I don't use direct start as my planting site has
no power for warming cables and the soil is still very cool.
