Many people recommend some incandesent light. At the University of
Illinois Hort propropagation lab, they have both and say use both, most
people say fluorescent is adequate.
Forget UV. Plants do not use UV. I looked for the action spectrum of
Photosysnthesis but did not find it. None of the lamps fit the needs of
plants exactly. I have spent mny hours comparing the spectral output of
lamps with the plant needs. When you spend hundreds of dollars for light
you want it to be the colors plants can use.
