That could be because lack of intensity of light because they were too far
away, and depending how long the lights were kept on and the temperature,
they might not have been getting strong enough fertilizer often enough.

I always use one cool white since I think it is best to lean towards the cool
end of the spectrum, since it promotes thick stocky growth, but of course it
needs SOME red spectrum, so that usualll works. Make sure you get the tops of
your plants MUCH closer than 6", that is way too far away! (and keep them in
the middle area of NEW tubes)! That should help them out a lot.
