Re:Nematodes

Alan: I've used nematodes for several years now, mostly to control Borers and
grubs in the soil.
They seem to do a good job at controlling the Jap. Beetle/Chaffer beetle grubs
in the soil, the grubs feed on the roots of the plant and attract skunks who do
their damage by digging for them and tearing up the garden in search for them.
last year was the first year i tried injecting them into affected vines, there
seemed to be a positive result in doing this as most of the damage from the
inhabited vines ceased.
I believe that the only way the nematodes would kill the borers in the soil
would be when they first burrow into the soil to pupate? I don't believe the
nematodes will attack a pupa but I could be wrong on this?

Good luck
Glenn Peters
