In a gardening handbook that I have read it sais to add 57 pounds of
sulfur to 1000 square feet to lower the pH from 8.5 to 6.5. This is for
sandy loamy soils. For clay it was 45 pounds per 1000 square feet. This
works out to 2.85 pound per 1000 square feet for a .1
drop in sandy loamy soils.
I hope this helps.
My soil is close to being on target for the season and this is the
information I used.
