Anthracnose - Bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all. I normally set back and read the posts and learn, being only a second
year grower. The problem which I have appears to be anthracnose on my Geerts
894 ( which by the way threw 2 squash this year ). A Master Gardner
came to my patch yesterday and gave me her diagnosis. The bummer part of all
this is my 12 yr old son has been taking care of this plant since it came out
of the greenhouse and is quite understandably distraught. Not to mention
the fact that this plant resides adjacent to a Checkon 815 which is doing
quite well, and a Checkon 1190 that is a tad behind. I was told to remove all
affected leaves as well as a section of the vine, use copper dust and hope
for the best. I have been using Daconil on a pretty regular basis, but it
seems to rain every day or so lately. Any and all information on battling
this disease will be greatly appreciated.
