Question and update Long Island

Hi All...I am in search of a pasteable fungiside for stem splits.....lots of
them....that wont flake off. Captan works wonders but flakes too easy
,especially when you need to use it like I am.....I cant imagine 2 more
months of this!! Benomyl or benlate are what I hear about but please fill me
in on available products containing this from manufacturers like Ortho,Bonide
etc....Would daconil straight from the bottle as a thick liquid do the
trick?Or would it be too strong?
  Update (of sorts)......three
plants,568Andrews99*,722Holland92,502.5Ciliberto91.......Four fruit= "Aw,
F*&K ! ", and "You too?!" are on the 722, "That's better" is on the 502.5,
and "Future" is on the 568*
568*..running a single side vine out the patch down between adjacent houses
and onto the front lawn....tall round orange/yellow fruit with mild
ribbing..will give this a full shot next year.
502.5...."thats better" is looking good although a bit young...55,33,36 at
18 days. This is the fruit Im most excited about as its green !!
722......well,where to start..." Aw ,F*&K ! " is by far the biggest but has
a real short stem and numerous splits at the vine and stem. Last night it
developed a small split into the fruit from the stem that ive pasted (again).
Its growing well, dispite its ugly bright yellow color.
722..... "You Too?!" is smaller and on my side vine as a backup to the
main vine fruit and as a shock absorber. With a fruit like the 722 which has
a splitting history and only one "real" plant it is neccessary to have a
backup. This also has a short stem, splits at the vine and stem and is that
ugly yellow/golden hue color. "You too?!" estimates in the 225 lb range.
With limited patch size and sun my goals are really to make my planned
cross, not neccessarily to grow the biggest. With all the problems to date I
would believe it to be a miracle to make it to October with any large
pumpkins.
The squash is young but VERY NICE....502.5Ciliberto x 722Holland...reverse
cross of the 697Ciliberto some of you may have heard about." Aw, F*&K !" and
"You Too?!" are 722 x 502.5 Green... same as 697 but with a green producing
502.
My 568 was kept to see fruiting characteristics of a squash x pumpkin cross
and is looking wonderfull. (not squash though, as designed !)
Thats the Long Island update from Massapequa where the sun don't shine no
more and it rains heavy everyday...even the mildew has
mildew......please...send help on the fungiside question........GlennA
