Thanks for the email.  Very informative.

I am certain that the relative absence of problems in my patch are a result
of it being my first year to plant pumpkins in a good many years.  The best
control of disease is crop rotation because the population of bad stuff
dwindles after a year or two of not planting cucurbits.  Growers who have
the room should consider a multi-year strategy for moving the patch.  This
is also a great way to build soil nutrients with cover crops during the off
years.
