Josh, Canada Thistle is a tough one. They have done experiments on
mechanical control and were successful by not letting any stems get over 2
inches long. After that length the plants started putting energy into the
roots. Roundup and 24D before bloom opens or in the fall helps. If you use
Tordon it will kill your pumpkins for several years. If you till the roots
before they are dead each chunk can be a new plant. I would use the Roundup
and 24D twice and till next spring, then plan on keeping any new growth
weeded out. You will also have some new plants from the seeds, it has a 1%
germination rate.
