      I have pumpkins on the vine that are already orange and it is
early August. I don't know if I should go ahead and pick them and store
them in a cool dark place (like the basement), or leave them on the vine
till October. I am afraid that they may rot on the vine. Then again they
may not last very long if I pick them. Help!! What should I do?
