Anybody ever try this?

I am in a strange position. I have a respectable little pumpkin that's
about 90lbs and putting about 5lbs on per day. However, I forsee that
my gains will be shortlived....

The plant has a pretty bad case of fungus despite my weekly
copper/sulphur applications. I try to keep it at bay but leaves keeping
getting yellow spots which later turn brown and crispy. Eventually the
whole leaf is in tatters. It is mostly the leaves on the main vine that
are affected; the ones on the secondaries are mostly untouched.

Anyway, here's my idea: since my main vine is about to hit the end of
the patch, rather than terminating it, I am thinking of snaking it back
along its length so it can keep producing new leaves where the old ones
have died.

Any thoughts?
