RE: K fertilizer
I just bought some from Erie Niagara Farmers Supply, Buffalo, NY,
(716)823-1926. Ask for Chris, tell him Mark sent ya. The Sudbury Water
Soluble 0-0-44 is only available in 1 lb. boxes but he also stocks the
following Peters water solubles in 25lb bags (extra zeroes added for
text formatting):
05-11-26 Hydro Sol
15-16-17 Peat Lite Special
15-10-30 Pot Mum Special
20-20-20 General Purpose
20-10-20 Peat Lite Special
10-30-20 Blossom Booster
09-45-15 Plant Starter
15-00-00 Calcium Nitrate
20-20-20 Jack's Classic Water Soluble (1 lb.)
15-30-15 Jack's Classic Water Soluble (1 lb.)
18-18-21 Miracle Grow for Tomatoes (sizes up to 5lb)
20-20-20 Peters Professional with Minors (8oz)
00-00-44 Sudbury Water Soluble (1 lb.)
Most have the same minor ingredients & nutrients, may be various
differences in the different blends, for example the peat lite mixes may
have extra nutrients to compensate for using peat, etc.
The Jack's Classic is the only line of fertilizer Jack PETERS didn't
sell to Scotts/Miracle Gro, so I've heard.
He also has Malathion, Sevin & Eight, Methoxychlor powder & liquid,
Daconil, etc for those who don't have permits--someone else said they
couldn't get Methoxychlor. Bradford PA is a couple hour (or so) drive.
Or he can ship UPS. Hope this helps.
Mark
P.S.> Closed Sundays & Mondays during summer; opens usually 6 or 7am.
Don't ask him about Warrior-T, ask me.

Where to find a water soluble high in K? I know there have been mention
before on this board but maybe someone in my neck of the woods NW PA
(Bradford, home of the famous ZIPPO!!!) has it but I think I've covered
a 50
mile radius (or more) to no avail. I have been experimenting with the
granulated potassium and dissolving it in water and sprinkling it on,
without being a true horticulturist (gardener) does this help expedite
the
availibility to the plant roots? I am very careful as to the amount
without
knowing as to how hot this is once it is dissolved. Am I wasting my time
or
truly doing some good? How long does it take in granulated form if you
water
it in?
