I hope I can save this one. I just got back from vacation (7 day trip); I
found my 846 Calai (est 300-400 lbs) tore itself from the vine. Yes it
was vine stress.......we had a few days of rain and this pumpkin took off
in growing. The pumpkin stem is still attached to the main vine about 1"
wide and 1/2" thick with a small secondary attached. But the main part of
the stem is ripped loose. Is it worth saving this pumpkin? How can I
repair this? Will this monster still grow? This was my prize.....its
growth rate would have pushed this pumpkin well over 800 pounds.
Any suggestions?
