complete, utter humiliating failure

List,
I have been postponing writing this because I have been hoping against
logic to have different news to report.
The sad fact is that I have failed completely this year.  Both the 337
Wilbers and the 520.4 Wilbers have stopped growing as vines altogether.  No
more new leaves, no
male or female flowers. The plant is not pushing new growth of any form.  The
520.4
Wilburs did set 2 pumpkins that grew to soccer ball size, but they both got
soft and rotted. The 520.4 is in the same state of stasis as the 337.  I have
no clue as to what is going on.  I fertilized at my usual times with 20/20/20
and this year I also applied fish emulsion twice.
The 337 Wilbers' leaves are now brown and crispy, I will be pulling it
this weekend in hopes of trying to grow jack-o-lanterns at least by
Halloween. I don't want to be further humiliated by having to BUY pumpkins.
That would be more than my battered ego could take.
The 520.4 is still green but is not putting out any new growth or
flowers, I will continue to monitor this plant, maybe something will happen.
If anyone has any ideas why these plants would just stop growing and
fail to set any pumpkins, I will entertain suggestions, criticism and even
ridicule if it will help me next year.

Hanging my head in shame,
Janet Miyamoto
