Little black eggs

Hello,

I found thousands of little black eggs laid on the underside of my pumpkin
leaves. At first I thought the plant wasn't getting enough water since the
leafs were getting wilted, but upon closer inspection, I found the eggs. It
almost looked as if mud had splashed up under the leaves they were so
infested with the black eggs. I sprayed "Bug-B-Gone" and today they are
looking 75% better, but I am still very uncomfortable with the whole thing.
In the mean while, the pumpkin has stopped growing! :( Does anyone know
what this is?

Sincerely,
Karri
