re: Weight estimation

I'm a goofy engineer so i like thought
experiments so here is one:

say you have a pumpkin that is long skiny and
flat- and the circ on it is 100 inches...

now say you have a pumpkin that is idetical in
shape (and weight) only rotated 90 degrees - so that
it is really tall - and the circ on it is only 60
inches...

but they are the same size and the same weight.
so what gives ?

OTT takes into account the over all shape of the
pumpkin, circ does not.
what is the shape of your pumpkin ?

They are two different estimating methods and yours
just happened to have the estimates come out the same
in the past -
but the are different now.

The OTT is a more accurate method but circ is
close enough more a lot of folks- especially
to see day to day or week to week changes.
remember both are just estimates.

hope this helps.

using the circumference method and the OTT method
there is now a large
disparity between the 2 different weight estimations,
a week or 10 days ago
they were virtually spot on with each other, now there
is over 80lbs
difference. does the list have any thoughts on this????
