Beth,
Last year in september I kept a blanket and tart on top of the pumpkin
itself and reemay floating row cover on most of the plant. My pumpkin
continued to grow untill Oct 3rd despite frost. The part of the plant that
wasn't covered died with the first frost, the rest kept doing its job.
