I have also had plants that do better in the heat than others. But the questions is "Why do some plants do better in the heat.". Perhaps one plant had a better start or developed a better rooting system due to factors other than getetic. I have noticed that even with the same seed, some plants come up fast and go strong, while some are very slow growers. I have had plants from the same parented seeds where one has much more wilting during the day than the other. Perhaps one plant had a much better rooting system due to soil conditions or other factors I didn't concider.
The tried and true method I have used to combat wilt is the use of misters. My misters in the past got the ground much too wet. This year I didn't use them and all of my vines burnt on the ends when temps got above 100 degrees. I have had a horrible growing season. I have not tried shade cloth, but I feel that would be an even better solution to the problem. I look forward to trying out shade cloth next year.

I am looking for plant information. I Have 6 plants and of the 6 I have
3 do very well in high heat. I am looking for other plants that seem to
tolerate heat better than others. Of the 6 I have the Hunt 991, the Pugh
874 and the Holland 1049 don't seem to be wilting in high heats. He Hunt
least of all. I think this is something to look into for next season. I
have a good seed stock with many verities and will compare what I learn
to the seeds I have for next year. Thanks you for any help
