Boy, wouldn't this be a great time to write the fair co-ordinator with a suggestion of having a guess the weight of the big pumpkin and let all proceeds go to the winner of the giant pumpkin catagory? Yeah, and offer up your help in organizing the event to assure its success and a nice "pot" for the winner in the future? Very often the big pumpkins are the major draw and can demand a little more respect prize-wise....but you need to take the bulll by the horns etc......get opportunity to get the thing off to a good start........G
