Subject: Yellowing Leaves
I had the same problem with yellowing leaves and took the entire plant
(I panicked, it was early in the season and I thought the SVB or some
other malignant critter had gotten into them). I took it to the
University of Tennessee Department of Plant Pathology and after
examination by several PHd types, they came to the conclusion that the
plant was suffering from a nutrient deficiency of some of the trace
elements (no bugs though). I had the soil tested earlier in the season,
but other than some pH adjusting, it was ok. I then added a mix of
ironite and calcium nitrate and within a week all the plants greened up
and started growing like crazy. Maybe yours are suffering the same
fate. Hope this helps

Can anyone help? I have grown pumpkins in the past with some success,
but
this year about two weeks ago I noticed that the large leaves at the
base of my
plants were turning yellow and the rest of the leaves were fine. Now
all the
leaves at the base are dead, and the rest are still green and healthy.
Anyone have this happen before.
