Re: Watering Question
I also cut my water usage by about 25% while at the same time getting a
healthier plant. The first few years I grew giant pumpkins I watered them with a
stationary hose sprinkler. I just didn't get very good coverage using them. My
patch was wet in the center and dry at the outside ends. This caused the stump
to rot out at the end of the season. I fixed this problem by putting in an
extensive overhead watering system with about 20 rotary drip system sprinklers.
These sprinklers also had little valves on them so I could turn them on one at
a time as my plant grew. This gave me great even coverage while using less
water.
