Re: I have a pumpkin set, woo hoo!

   TJ, List
This year I had my ONLY Competitive pumpkin on the 790 Daletas open on the
inside of the quarter flag. as it grew it naturally twisted and laid directly
on the vine till it was foot ball size I then "Slowly" Coaxed it simply enough
to keep it off the vine. as it started packing on weight the stem elongated
and I was then able to move it less then 1/4 of an inch at a time onto the open
side of the quarter flag where I wanted it. it is in the PERFECT position and
I am Really lucky because the 790 Daletas only had 3 females total two on the
main vine but only one during pollination time.
So in Short don't get in a Hurry let the stem help you as it grows it
will give you the distance you need just make sure it is during the heat of the
day and even if you feel you can move it an inch, only move it just a little
at a time. I am still moving my two big ones and they are right at 400 lbs by
grabbing the 4x4 sheet of plywood and using it kinda Wheel barrow style to move
the pumpkin... Where there is a will there is a way !!!
Take care all and Grow em BIG....
