Powdery Mildew

For the last few years I have used Daconil to prevent this problem. You can
never be completely without Powdery Mildewit but the idea is to have good
control. Prevention is the only way. Each year a few leaves will develop it later
in the season but the idea is to only have it on a very few leaves or none at
all. It usually can be first seen on leaves that are slightly shaded by other
leaves. These are the leaves that tend to remain moist as the sun is not
hitting them and drying them out. I start my Daconil the very first of August, long
before you are likely to see any powdery mildew. An ounce of prevention is the
only way to go. If you have it everywhere it is very difficult to deal with.
I have never tried systemic treatment.
