Determining the weight

What is the most accurate method of determining the weight of pumpkins, save for placing them on a scale?

I've been using the OTT scale at the Pumpkin Nook <http://www.pumpkinnook.com/giants/ott.htm>, is this accurate or is there a better or more accurate method one can use to determine weight?
