A guy from bigpumpkins.com named Mat Fox wrote to me with this
information. He is well known on BP.com for keeping track of the
records. This is what he said...
"the length record for long guord is 110 5/8 inches . It was set by
peter
waterman in 1994 in NY."

Seems to me I read a thread last year about a long gourd over 9 feet
long. I'll try doing a search.

I'd be interested in knowing what the largest Zucca Melon is. There are
some being grown in the Similkameen Valley in Keremeos, B.C.
I recall seeing a truckload of them in the 1950's stacked like cordwood
on
their way to the cannery in New Westminster. They must have been at
least
6 feet long and 12-16" in diameter. They were used to make candied
fruit
for baking.
