I don't know about Elmer's...I use a sulphur fungicide. It is described on
the bag as wettable sulphur. I don't remember the brand name...red and yellow
bag. I mix the powder with a little water and make a paste to seal up vine and
stem splits. Also, try to keep it dry, even if it takes a fan for a couple
of days. Hope this helps. Product available at local Lowes, Wal-Mart, etc...
