Re: stem stess

About sulfur... A friend of mine who uses 99% pure sulfur to treat a certain chicken parasite gave me a huge bag to use for my pumpkins... Turns out it doesn't get into suspension in water so I can't use it. It clumps. The garden type I usually use (96% pure sulfur) dissolves well in water (suspension really) and the milky result is easily sprayable on the plants.

So althought sulfur is sulfur, there seems to be some chemical difference between the two that makes it suspend better in water.

You should test it before you use it.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a bag of sulphur in the hunting section of the Bass Pro Shop near me. I think it was meant to be added to deer bait. It looked like it was almost pure sulphur. So, I wonder if that would work just as well.

I can get garden fungicide, the proper stuff, pretty easily. But, this feed additive sulphur came in a bigger bag and wasn't very expensive. So, maybe I could save money by buying in bulk, or by using it as a soil additive if my next soil test suggests I need it.
