I have some shading my pumpkins but its up above it on sticks.
Was your cloth laying directly on the pumpkin or is mine gonna cause
problems up above it?

The same thing happen to my pumpkins a month ago. I thought it would be
a
good idea to drape plastic shade cloth over my pumpkins. Well it wasnt!!
When it
got hot I think the shade cloth gave off chemicals or something and
burnt
spots over my pumpkins. Some of the spots are ok, but some are getting
deeper. I
put captain on them and hoping for the best. They could cause problems
as the
fruit reaches maturity. DO NOT PUT SHADE CLOTH OVER PUMPKINS
