Subject: I need some growing tips!

Hi!
I'm new to growing giant pumpkins this year. I got started with a bet when a
friend told me I couldn't out 'grow' her pumpkin patch....and now I pretty sure
I am hooked! I have been following this site and have learned a lot of good
tips from you experts. So far I have a pumpkin that is about 160 pounds. With
the circumfernce measurement (stem to blossom), it is gaining approx. 4 pounds
every 24 hours. Can anyone clue me in on what I should be doing to 'encourage'
continued growth at this point in the season? I have heard from three people
now about injecting milk into the stem. Has anyone heard of this??? (I'm
chicken to try it!!) Also, I'm from the Twin Cities area in MN...does anyone
know of any weigh off sites around here??

Thanks everyone!

Nan

ps...my friends pumpkin is about half the size of mine so far...with luck on my
side, I'll hopefully keep it that way! :)
