One organic method for dealing with the borers is to
go out in the evening with a flashlight and shine it
through the vine until you locate the nasty borer in
the vine and then impale it with a pin. To minimize
vine damage I usually leave the pin in the vine for a
few hours instead of moving the pin around. Once the
grub is in the vine it is difficult to kill with
chemicals since the vine itself is protecting the
borer. Goodluck!
