Hi Steve,
Am working to get some pictures I can send. The leaf stalks are just normal colored when the break off though. almost as if the plant can no longer hold them up. All the large leaves fell and broke off, all the other leaves are smaller leaves, not near as large as they should be.

I am currently engaged in a "top secret" Fusarium control program but won't
have results for about a year. LOL

If you can email some digital pictures perhaps we can fine tune the
diagnosis as there are other possible demons at work here.

This is my first year trying to grow a big pumpkin. I am having no luck what so ever. I started three seeds in my greenhouse; one came up (Bubbles - 487 Zunino 2004). I felt good about that one, it just seemed to jump out of the ground. I got it planted out in a plot I had tilled well rotted manure into. All seemed well, then the large leaves seemed to fall over and break off. Soon I had no leaves on the first 10 feet of the vine. I have been burying the vines and have about 20 feet of main vine and maybe 8 - 10 feet of side vines. The new leaves that are coming on are small, about the size of salad plates, and they do not seem to open all the way, just stay sort of cupped. There have been no blossoms at all. I keep the patch watered well, and have seen no evidence of insect problems. I water in the early morning and do not water in the heat of the day. Now the main stem seems to be splitting open about 6 feet from where it is planted. I live in Oregon and our weather has been up and down, hot then cool, wet then real dry. We have just had several days of 100+ degree weather. I feel like a real failure and have no idea what to do. Maybe write this year off and try again next year?
