pumpkin distance to end of main vine

Happy Sunday to all!

Curious for opinions:

I have my chosen pumpkin growing quite nicely at about 15 feet on the vine, and I let the main go on for a while after her.  Just the other day I decided to chop the head of the vine, and hopefully spur a little extra growth... so... I thought the female that was about a foot behind the chopping point was unpollinated.. well.. I was wrong. My kids want me to keep her, so, I am. I figure I have about 2-3 good weeks of growing weather left, so we shall see.
 Any thoughts how she will grow?  Does the pumpkin need vine past her?
