Steve, I agree with Bart. Did the seed you're growing this plant from have
good orange genes behind it? If the genes aren't there it may never turn
orange no matter how much sun exposure it gets. If its going to color up it
will happen. I wouldn't expose it to the sun until two weeks before your
weigh-off. When it does color up it may turn some crazy ugly mix of colors
anyway, if thats whats going to happen and you expose it to the sun now you'll
just end up with a smaller ugly pumpkin. LOL
