At the risk of being redundant:  My pumpkin blew because of no shading, WAY
too much potassium, and who knows what else.  I saw a twin of mine from the
same seed stock at a weigh-in--310 lbs.  I was very sad.  Steve  M.

I was in a hurry to make her big. I lost my better vines in a storm earlier
so I was trying to get one to catch-up. Too much fertilizer and
incompetence. I didn't have the fruit tarped after I lost the better plants
in July. I figure it hardened and split from growing too fast.
At least I can have some seeds for next year.
