Our main concern is that it damages the fruit where it is seemingly
attached. I researched stem gall and found no documentation of this
happening with cucurbits. I am hoping that as time goes by, we find that
this is truly a stem disorder and can be dealt with at harvest. I can't wait
to tell my brother that you think his girl is a transsexual.

My thoughts would be just to watch it and don't do anything. It sounds like
it is just a minor deformity. I have seen this happen with tomatoes quite a
bit. Sometimes the deformity looks like a nose or you can use your
imagination and see other type of bodily appendages.
