If you apply later in the day, once the heat and sun is starting to go down you should be okay. I still advocate a double attack if you are seeing more than a few cuke beetles. The Bayer Advantage containing imidichlorprin (Merit) is good to use as a drench and then you can spray Triazicide as well. I use Triazicide on about 100 Hyrbrid T Roses and have never experienced any spray damage as long as I spray later in the evening. Even the open blooms show know damage. Sevin has been around for a long time. My belief is that Sevin is no longer very effective because insects have gain resistance to it.
